The Biblical Birth School LLC is committed to maintaining high standards of professional conduct, ethical practice, and accountability among its organization, students, and certified doulas.

This grievance procedure provides a formal process for students, clients, healthcare providers, colleagues, or other individuals to submit concerns regarding the conduct of The Biblical Birth School or an individual who holds an active certification issued by The Biblical Birth School.

Grounds for a Grievance

A grievance may be submitted regarding concerns including, but not limited to:

  • Violation of The Biblical Birth School’s Code of Conduct, Professional Standards of Practice, or Scope of Practice

  • Unprofessional or unethical conduct

  • Misrepresentation of certification, qualifications, or professional role

  • Breach of client confidentiality or professional boundaries

  • Discrimination or harassment

  • Conduct that may place a client at risk

  • Practicing outside the established non-clinical scope of doula practice

  • Concerns regarding the administration of The Biblical Birth School’s educational or certification programs

A grievance should be based on specific conduct or circumstances rather than a general disagreement with an individual’s personal beliefs, professional opinions, or lawful business practices.

Submitting a Grievance

Grievances must be submitted in writing to The Biblical Birth School at [email protected] and should include:

  • The name and contact information of the person submitting the grievance

  • The name of the individual involved, if applicable

  • A clear description of the concern

  • Relevant dates and circumstances

  • Any documentation or supporting information available

Grievances may be submitted by email to [email protected] with the subject line “Formal Grievance.”

Anonymous complaints may be reviewed at the discretion of The Biblical Birth School; however, the organization’s ability to investigate or take action may be limited when the identity of the complainant or sufficient supporting information is unavailable.

Review and Investigation

The Biblical Birth School will acknowledge receipt of a formal grievance and conduct an appropriate review of the information provided.

The individual who is the subject of a grievance may be notified of the allegations and given an opportunity to provide information or respond to the concerns raised.

The Biblical Birth School may request additional documentation or information from any party when necessary to conduct a fair review.

Information related to a grievance will be handled as confidentially as reasonably possible while allowing the organization to adequately investigate and respond to the matter.

Resolution

Following review, The Biblical Birth School will determine whether its policies, professional standards, certification requirements, or Code of Conduct have been violated.

When appropriate, action may include education or corrective action, a formal warning, additional training requirements, probation, suspension or revocation of certification, dismissal from a program, or other action deemed appropriate based on the circumstances.

The Biblical Birth School reserves the right to take immediate action when allegations involve serious misconduct, client safety, fraudulent representation, or circumstances that may significantly compromise professional standards.

The individual submitting the grievance will be notified when the review has been completed. Specific details regarding disciplinary action or confidential student information may not be disclosed.

Good-Faith Reporting

The Biblical Birth School prohibits retaliation against an individual for submitting a grievance in good faith or participating in a grievance review.

Knowingly submitting false, malicious, or intentionally misleading allegations may itself constitute a violation of The Biblical Birth School’s professional standards when the individual submitting the complaint is subject to those standards.

Scope of Authority

The Biblical Birth School’s grievance process applies to matters within the organization’s authority as an educational and certifying organization.

The Biblical Birth School does not serve as a law enforcement agency, healthcare regulatory board, licensing authority, or court of law. Matters involving suspected criminal conduct, abuse, immediate safety concerns, professional licensure, or other issues outside the organization’s authority may need to be reported to the appropriate agency or authority.
